Team Building Paddle Boat!

Last week the operations team got to go out on a Paddle Boat Excursion with Lagerhead Cycle Boats! Our VP of Operations was in town, so it was the perfect time for our entire team to get together and do something. We left work around 4:30 and headed to Fort Myers beach to the Salty Sams Marina where we got to hop on the boat. This boat was especially great for team building because the captain would shut off the motor and we all had to work together to power it! We rode around for 2 hours and even got to stop at some of the local restaurants and bars for drinks and apps.

Afterwards the team hung out at Parrot Key for a little while, took photos and then headed over to Doc Ford’s for some dinner.

Overall it was a great night, the boat captains were awesome and it was fun hanging out with all our visitors from the other offices!

Spigot, Inc. had a great time at the KCDC conference last week! For the past few years Spigot, Inc. has been sending developers, but this year we got the opportunity to not only send some of our developers – but to send one of our recruiters AND sponsor a booth!

Not only did Spigot, Inc. have the best swag, but we also challenged some of the developers to get it. One hot item in particular was red bull, so we asked them to ask for a red bull in code!

On top of meeting great people, some of our development teams were able to go and listen to guest speakers, participate in workshops and (of course) enjoy some delicious KC BBQ.

Overall it was a very successful shows – we met some potential new members of the Spigot family, got to know some of the event founders and set up plans for next year to not only sponsor the event again, but also potentially speak at the event!

Taco Tuesday on a Wednesday!

If you follow Spigot, Inc., you have probably already noticed we like to go rogue – so today we had Taco Tuesday on a Wednesday! You also probably realized that there has been a ton of posts about food lately. That’s because we LOVE to eat and we love our FREE (that’s right, absolutely free) lunches every Monday and Wednesday even more. Not only do we get to eat delicious food, catered from local restaurants and chains in Fort Myers, we are able to socialize and eat  together as a team. Today’s Taco Wednesday was catered by Three Peppers Burrito. Three Peppers came in and set up a taco bar for the office to enjoy, and as you can see from the line (and how much fun everyone is having in the pictures) – it was a hit!

Three Peppers has a variety of delicious food to try, but today we got to create our own tacos from their catered taco bar. We had both crunchy and hard shells, home-made guac, a variety of salsas, choices of jasmine or brown rice AND a ton of toppings, just look at them all!

We love getting creative at Spigot, Inc. and this was the perfect way to blend our love for food, socializing AND creativity. If you feel like you are a creative individual and have what it takes to launch your career in dynamic and laid back culture, Spigot, Inc would like to speak with you.

Spigot, Inc. Mobile Team Goes to Cayman!

Team building is extremely important to Spigot, Inc. so we do everything we can to make sure we figure out ways to do that! This time our Mobile team went on a Cayman adventure and visited our sister company Eightpoint Technologies and got to do a ton of team building activities.

The team got the opportunity to rent jet ski’s from the Westin Grand Cayman and ride around the ocean, dive into the water and check out the coral reefs and all of the fish (they even threw chum into the water to get the fish to come to them).

The next day the team got to go to Cayman Crystal Caves and Nature Forest to see the caves (which were awesome!).

Overall the trip was great and everyone got to know each other a little bit better outside of the office!

Our parent company is based out of China and they have companies all over the globe we work side by side with – so it’s really important for us to travel and develop relationships with everyone in the other offices; as well as in our Fort Myers office.
