Gobble & Gather At Spigot, Inc.

With Thanksgiving in sight, we at Spigot, Inc. thought we should have a friendsgiving feast pot luck to celebrate early! All of the tenants at WeWork brought various dishes and desserts. It was so fun to get to mix and mingle with all the different people from our floor and other floors in the building. It was also a great opportunity for us at Spigot, Inc. to get together and chat outside of work topics and catch up and also discuss each others’ holiday plans and see what’s new in each others lives. Being surrounded by friends, family and even close co-workers is so amazing during the holiday season and we are so happy WeWork gives us the space to make all of that possible every day!

Spigot, Inc. And Eightpoint Team Outing!

This past weekend, Spigot, Inc. got the amazing chance to visit it’s sister company EightPoint in Cayman Islands. Yesterday the Spigot, Inc. team AND EightPoint Technologies along with Polarity went on a Caymanian snorkeling adventure to Rum Point and Stingray City. Eightpoint chartered a 38 foot sport fish boat from Crystal Charters and they took us to all the best places! We even got to jump off the top of the boat and ride on the bow. After our outing the boat dropped us off in Camana Bay and we stuffed our faces with pizzas from The Brooklyn.

Spigot, Inc. employees are so fortunate to work for a company that values their employees happiness and promotes fun (and crazy) team building events. There are tons of perks working for Spigot, Inc. but the opportunity to travel, visit our sister companies and participate in team events is by far one of the best.

Bring Your Dog To Work Day Is Everyday At Spigot, Inc.

They come with you to bed, on long walks, to restaurant… why shouldn’t mans best friend come to work with you as well?! Well, at Spigot, Inc. this is just the case. As tenants of the Corrigan Station WeWork building, perks are seriously abundant. One of the best perks of working in this building is that they are 100% dog friendly! They even offer dog treats in the main lobby! All that’s needed to bring your furry friend to work is to fill out some easy paper work indicating your four-legged friend is up-to-date on shots and you’re good to go! It’s not recommended to bring your dog to work everyday (obviously) but it’s great to have that option in case you don’t have a dog-walker that day or if you just want to spread a little cheer to everyone around you (because who doesn’t LOVE DOGS?!) It’s a great conversation starter and is the best way to make people smile while they’re at work.

Spigot, Inc. Pays Chiefs Kingdom A Visit

This past NFL Sunday, the Kansas City Spigot, Inc. team along with several Fort Myers members got the chance to go to the Chiefs vs. Bengals game! There are a few things that Kansas Citians take very seriously and that is: Barbecue, art, and the Chiefs of course! The game was the perfect opportunity to catch up and spend necessary quality time with our fellow team members and show them the ways of the Midwest. Even though it was super cold and our Floridian team members aren’t used to cold weather, we still had an amazing time! The weather was 60 and sunny all day, perfect tail gate weather. What’s better than friends and NFL Sunday and the Chiefs? Nothing! We had amazing seats and got to witness 4 amazing touchdown passes by Patrick Mahomes and his amazing offense.   

Here at Spigot, Inc. we are so lucky to do all kinds of fun team building activities like this. Spigot, Inc. Takes Over Cyprus

Who ever said business and fun don’t mix? Here at Spigot, Inc., we completely disagree! Some of our very own Spigot, Inc. employees were granted the opportunity to travel to some amazing places and see some amazing sights while working. It’s important for us to keep positive and strong relations with our fellow Spigot, Inc. team members in different countries. This not only allows for strong, positive relationships, it also allows us to really delve and immerse ourselves into different cultures, step outside our comfort zones and try new and exciting things.  This month, one of our very own traveled all the way to Cyprus and got to experience first-hand the breath-taking view of the Mediterranean, try different exotic food and drink, and explored various touristy spots like the beautiful beach of Farmagusta, where guests can take a dip in the Mediterranean or just sit back, relax and enjoy a cocktail. They also went to see the beautiful overlook at Aphrodite’s Rock. Team members also got to explore Bucharest, Romania as well.

Spigot, Inc. KC Loves First Fridays

The first Friday of every month is one of the best days of the month to a Kansas City resident. Why, you might ask? The first Friday of each month marks a fun filled day in the Crossroads Arts District. We at Spigot, Inc. are so lucky to be located right in the heart of the crossroads among the excitement of First Fridays. The streets close down for a day and the event is best traveled on foot. There is an endless array of food trucks, art galleries, art studios, and a wide variety of local businesses for you to network with. Grinders always hosts live music so look no further if that’s what you’re interested in.  It is truly amazing to see a sea of people walk and talk and enjoy the city we live in and love. There is really something for everyone on First Fridays. It’s a great excuse to get out there and mingle with fellow citizens and for us at Spigot, Inc., it is a great excuse for team bonding and exploring the area we work in together.

Spigot, Inc. is Located In One of the Fastest Growing City’s in the US!

They say location is key, and Spigot, Inc. is fortunate enough to be in a growing FL city! Fort Myers has always been known as a small sleepy town, but recently they have been given the title “One of the Fastest Growing City’s in the US.” With cheap housing, beautiful beaches, warm weather and palm trees – I’m sure you can see why! According to an article in Gulfshore Life, “The net migration rate grew at about 14 percent from 2012 to 2016.” There is a bunch of new construction in the Southwest FL area and new things to do are popping up everyday. Not only does Fort Myers offer a beautiful white sand beach with bars and restaurants in the sand, a popular downtown area, great schools and a few large town centers – Spigot, Inc. is located in driving distance from Naples, Marco Island, Sanibel Island and Captiva. If you’re feeling really adventurous – you can take an hour drive to Siesta Key or Sarasota. 

Making the decision to relocate can be tough, but the FL sun and Spigot, Inc.’s amazing perks should make the decision a little bit easier. Don’t have time for the gym? That’s not an excuse at Spigot, Inc.!  We are located in the same plaza as two gyms and  Spigot, Inc. employees have the opportunity to stay healthy and in shape before, during or after work hours. We are located right next to Sphinx Crossfit Gym, which offers Crossfit classes several times a day and a handful of Spigot, Inc. employees even go on their lunch break. If you follow our blog, you know Spigot, Inc. loves competition and this is a great way to exercise our competitive nature (pun intended). Platinum Fitness also offers 30 minute classes so Spigot, Inc. employees can dip out for a quick workout there if that’s more their style. Spigot, Inc. has a flexible work schedule, so between that and the prime location of the gyms – it makes it so much easier to make time to get a workout in.

Wellness Wednesday At Spigot, Inc.

Self-care is something that is so crucial to every day living for everyone. It can make or break your mood which will overall affect your success in your work place. That’s why today is Wellness Wednesday here at the WeWork building in downtown Kansas City. Tenants of the work building were given the opportunity to set up a free 10 minute consultation with Dr. Anthony Evans Align For Life Chiropractic & Functional Medicine. The consultation included a spinal assessment. According to the Chiropractor’s Association of Australia “a healthy spine coupled with a healthy nervous system is crucial in terms of maintaining whole body health. Any alteration of spinal structure or function may cause irritation of the central nervous system.” This is why making sure everything is functioning well with your back and that’s why we here at Spigot, Inc. take your overall well-being so very seriously.

Spigot, Inc. Brings Music To Our Ears

We’re nothing if not avid music enthusiasts here at Spigot, Inc. Kansas City. Seriously. We ALWAYS have music playing throughout the day. There is always a perfect balance and mixture of genres being played at all times. From 90s pop, indie rock,pop, folk, rap, reggae,classic rock and even the occasional country song here and there, we cover all the bases. It’s a great way for us to stop throughout our day and say “hey I love this song! who is this?”or “hey! you like this artist? ME too!” Music definitely creates a bond between employees that makes us work better together here at Spigot, Inc. We take turns on who controls the music so we get to hear each others’ preferences throughout the work day. It’s great because everyone gets to hear what they want at some point during the day.We’re also really big on Spotify as well as Pandora just in case no one feels like controlling the music we just shuffle the songs to our liking.  Our nifty Sonos speakers are perfect for the work environment because they’re just the right size and don’t get too loud since we don’t want to disrupt other working on our floor.
