Due to the Coronavirus – Spigot, Inc. and our sister companies decided starting yesterday that the smartest approach would be to close our offices and have all employees work from home in “self isolation.” In general, Spigot, Inc. employees spend a great deal of time with one another in and outside of work – and working on each other’s computers collaborating, so we thought it would be best to shut down the offices. NO – we aren’t crazy, but we definitely don’t want to contribute to the medical facilities being overrun by sick patients like stated in this article and graph. Florida is slowly closing down all their public places, as of right now public school, bars and nightclubs are all on a mandatory close – so Spigot, Inc. employees staying home as much as possible is 70 less people to spread the virus!
The real question though is – do we like it or hate it?! Sure, working from home is nice – and I don’t think any of us have reached talking to a volley ball status yet BUT the consensus seems to be – we’d rather be in the office! When Spigot, Inc. employees were notified of the closure there were tons of complaints of not being able to collaborate and general boredom. Some Spigot, Inc. employees, however, have enjoyed their time home with their pets and swimming pools – as seen in the photos!
Spigot, Inc. employees are extremely fortunate to work for a company that is internet based and fully functional remotely. We are also fortunate that every enjoys coming into the office so much they were disappointed we were closing!
