Spigot, Inc. Takes Dave & Busters By Storm

Spigot, Inc. employees never pass up an opportunity to have a good time, and last night we all left work around 3:3o and headed over to the new Dave & Busters in Fort Myers. Dave & Busters didn’t even know what they were in for. This was definitely one of the most successful happy hours we’ve had yet! Almost every single Spigot, Inc. employee came to play. Spigot, Inc. got everyone 20$ play cards and got to enjoy tons of apps and drinks on us! Of course – most employees won a ton of prizes and Shakti EVEN hit the jackpot.

The Spigot, Inc. office is has grown rapidly over the past two years. We now have 70 employees sitting in the Fort Myers office, and there are days that go by where employees don’t even see one another due to our huge space. Happy hours like this are a great way to get everyone out of the office and mingling with employees from other teams that they don’t normally interact with on a daily basis. Spigot, Inc. also REALLY values employee happiness and this is another great way to show our appreciation to our employees and just give everyone a break from the work day to hang out.

If you want to be a part of a fun, competitive and lively organization – we’d love to speak with you! Send your resume to careers@spigot.com for review! Spigot, Inc. Mobile Team Goes to Romania: An Employee’s Story

As most of you probably already know – Spigot, Inc. is across the globe. We are owned by a company based out of Beijing, China, have several offices in the US and another office in Bucharest, Romania. Many Spigot, Inc. employees are fortunate enough to be able to travel to these locations for work purposes (and even extend their trips to see other parts of the world!). This past week our Mobile Team made the long 20 hour journey to work on their product with the Spigot, Inc. Romanian team. Spigot, Inc.’s, Elina Terentevya, documented the whole trip and gave us the run down below!

Elina:

I was fortunate enough to be one of the members of the mobile team to take a trip to Bucharest, Romania to work with our IOS team. While Spigot makes sure our communication is possible through all the technology provided, there is nothing better than meeting and working side by side. After a few take offs and landings, many movies on the plane, lots of laughs, and many many snacks, we were finally there!

As we landed we decided to go straight to the office to get started. The Ro team greeted us with open arms and most importantly donuts. I have tasted a lot of donuts in my life, but nothing compared to these. Papanasi, as they are called in Romania, were perfect round spheres, and

exactly what we needed for a quick pick me up before diving right in to work with the team. A perfect Romanian welcome in my opinion.

The evening followed by a team dinner at Grand Café Van Gogh. The café was so unique, with Van Gogh replicas hanging all across the wall painted by local artists, funky umbrellas hanging from the ceiling, and nachos that were out of this world.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin about the food. It never stopped, and each place was better than the last. The bread, the wine, the humus, the baba ganoush, the kabobs, the shawarmas, all the meats, and my personal favorite mamaliga. Everything tasted even better than it looked, if that’s even possible!

Another night we went to a traditional Romanian restaurant, called Hanu’ lui Manuc, we ate, we drank, and we fully embraced the Romanian culture. 2 meters of beer, authentic Romanian food, endless donuts, Moldavian dancers, the Eastern European culture is just something else.

We were also lucky enough, some may not agree with me, to see a fresh snow fall. The snow just kept falling transforming this unique city of Bucharest in to a winter wonderland. Snow balls were made and exchanged.

Working at Spigot, Inc. gives employees an amazing opportunity to experience different cultures, whether it’s in our own office or travelling abroad. Another Successful Spigot, Inc. Affiliate Summit

Last week Spigot, Inc. took a trip out to Las Vegas to attend the annual Affiliate Summit West. The summit is held in the Paris hotel and gives companies in the advertising, marketing and affiliate space an opportunity to network, catch-up with clients and learn more about the affiliate/marketing world. With over 6,000 attendees from from 60 different countries, and over 300 exhibitors and sponsors – ASW is the biggest marketing conference in the world. This conference is extremely beneficial for us – Spigot, Inc. got to meet with new and old client’s –  in a relaxed/fun setting to foster relationships and gain new business/ways to drive traffic.

The first day of the summit consisted of a “Meet Market” with over 1,000 booths of companies looking to make connections. The remaining days of the summit –  everyone got the opportunity to go into the exhibit and check out all of the booths and everyone got EXTREMELY creative this year!  There were a few giant tiki bars with mingling areas, a huge coffee bar, a simulated wake board and PowerInbox had a throwback airbrush shirt stand! During the times Spigot, Inc. wasn’t attending the exhibit, we took clients on a helicopter ride, jumped off the stratosphere, attended client-run parties and had extremely productive dinners.

Overall ASW was a great experience for new and old Spigot, inc. attendees and we can’t wait for the next one! If you want to be a part of a company that promotes networking, travelling and a “work-hard, play-hard” atmosphere – we’d love to speak with you! Send your resume and cover letter to careers@spigot.com for review! Spigot, Inc. All Company Meeting Provides Full Transparency Once a Quarter

Once a quarter Spigot, Inc. employees all gather in our big conference room (that we’ve already outgrown!) to get a company update “All hands on deck” meeting. The meeting is run by Spigot, Inc. CEO, Ryan Stephens. He starts out by explaining (and showing slides) of the company structure and telling our story for all of the new employees who haven’t heard it and a refresher for the veterans. He then goes into our earnings for the past quarter (and this time year of 2019), where we are at in terms of hitting our goals, what are future products and strategies look like and what our goals and projections are for the next year and quarter.

This quarterly meeting provides Spigot, Inc. employees with FULL transparency on where our business stands and where we are headed and also gives employees the opportunity to ask questions. The Spigot, Inc. Executive Management team is extremely open and honest with us and Ryan even about how we are an internet company and the internet is ALWAYS changing, so we never stop building and we always stay ahead of the curve. He also touches on how great the organization is, and how thankful he is for the people contributing to our success.

Overall – it’s an extremely productive, insiteful and important meeting for Spigot, Inc. Spigot, Inc. employees all agree – it’s great to work for a company where full transparency, respect and gratitude are highly valued. We even get to hop on a call with all our sister companies around the world for a quick update as well!

A Look into Spigot, Inc. Company Culture

“Train employees so they can leave, Treat them well enough so they don’t want t0.” – an awesome quote by Richard Branson. Spigot, Inc. has many things to offer, but our BIGGEST asset is our employees, and we believe this quote sums up our company culture extremely well. Not only does Spigot, Inc. “train” their employees – but they give everyone a huge opportunity to learn and to grow within the organization. We have very minimal process, so employees are granted the freedom, not only to express their ideas, but actually put them into action. Spigot, Inc. employees are also given the opportunity to fail. We know “failure” in the work place isn’t something most people are used to being accepted, but Spigot, Inc. knows – that is the only way to grow. Everyone gets the chance to take risks, fail, learn from their mistakes and come up with a better “game-plan” or solution next time. Just this concept alone breeds employee happiness. Employees getting the opportunity to also acheive big wins and successes (along with failure) give them the confidence to make business decisions and earn respect from peers and executives in the organization.

On top of this, we all structure the teams by business unit instead of by position or department. We have Media Buyers, Business Analysts and Developers/Engineers on every team (or in every business) and they all work collaboratively on their specific product. This way – every individual is actually contributing to the bottom line of our business.

Spigot, Inc. has a ton of perks on a professional level – we invest in our employees and make sure they are on the path to growth. On top of all of this, Spigot, Inc. also provides perks to take the “leg-work” out of everyday tasks. We stock our office with a ton of snacks (on request by employees), beer, fancy coffee, cold brew coffee on tap, bagels for breakfast, an entire fridge full of soft-drinks and (OBVIOUSLY) La Croix. We offer free lunch twice a week (with left-overs for the rest of the week), team-building trips, pop-up parties and beer-pong on Friday afternoons. The office is also fully stocked with games; Huge flat screens with Nintendo Switch & Xbox, Darts, Foos Ball, Ping Pong, Connect Four, Hungry Hungry Hippos (lol) and Spigot branded corn hole. We believe that breaks are necessary (and we’re all super competitive) so we’re encouraged to take breaks and play games. We are offered a flexible work schedule, no one has specific times they need to come in the office or leave, getting our work done – and doing it well is top priority, not how long employees sit in their seats.

We also work heavily with FGCU to hire talented interns and turn them into successful employees. Most of our interns have gotten full-time positions here and have grown in their career.

Spigot, Inc. company culture makes employees WANT to come to work everyday. We have an extremely low “turn-over” rate and a large handful of employees who have made it over 10 years. Spigot, Inc. is truly a family – we all hang out inside and outside of work and relocating is easy, because it’s a great place to make friends! Check out our Linkedin Life page to see more about our culture, benefits and employees.

Successful (Maybe the Best One Yet) Spigot, Inc. Holiday Party!

Almost every Spigot, Inc. employee in attendance, giant light-up robots, fog machines, AMAZING Service at Cavo Lounge, a photobooth, delicious food (and even macaroons!) made for an unforgettable Spigot, Inc. Holiday Party! It’s a challenge to get everyone from Spigot, Inc. in the same place at the same time, ESPECIALLY with their significant others – so once a year we have a huge blow-out where Spigot, Inc. employees can bring a guest to, and eat and drink on us. This year’s party was a HUGE success, almost 120 people attended Cavo Lounge in Naples around 7pm. Everyone was greeted with amazing service, cocktails and horderves following quickly. Cavo sectioned off the VIP area so we had somewhere for our bottles, food and (Of Course) dancing. Cavo lit champagne bottles on fire and Spigot, Inc. employees had funny costumes. The party was only supposed to last until 10pm, but in true Spigot, Inc. fashion – we all stayed much later! Several Spigot, Inc. employees made a vacation out of it and stayed at the Inn at Pelican Bay in Naples for the night!

The Spigot, Inc. holiday party was an amazing way to kick off the holiday season and the new year! It was extremely fun to get to know new employees better; as well as spend time with employees significant others and friends in their lives.

Spigot, Inc. truly appreciates their employees and is a strong advocate for employee happiness. We try everything we can to make sure our employees know one another, enjoy each other’s company and know they are appreciated. If this type of environment is somewhere you think you would thrive – Spigot, Inc. would love to chat with you!

Spigot, Inc. judges FGCU Entrepreneurial Contest

Three Spigot, Inc. employees got the awesome opportunity yesterday to judge the FGCU Entrepreneurial contest in the Emergent Technology Institute Building. FGCU has an amazing program for young adults with a passion and drive to be an Entrepreneur called, The Runway Program. According to their website, The FGCU Runway Program is a free business incubator open to students and alumni that are accepted into the program. Currently located off campus at the FGCU Emergent Technologies Institute Building, participants have access to two 1,300 ft2 shared work spaces, computers, cameras, audio equipment, design and development software, and regular mentoring fromt heir expert faculty, staff, and community startup coaches.

Participants are required to regularly meet with assigned Runway Program Advisers to receive feedback on ideas and progress, in addition to setting goals towards launching their venture. The Runway Program follows the Lean Start-Up methodology. Participants identify and validate the existence of a problem or opportunity, and then develop solutions and a plan that they can test on real people. At the end of the 16-week program, student participants have the opportunity to pitch for equity-free seed funding to launch their businesses.

The program has come to an end and all the students got put in different rooms for a “Shark Tank” style presentation. Spigot, Inc.’s Connor Grevel, Ben Tucker and Sean Henry sat in the judges seat and saw all kinds of creative business ideas. From Bio-degradable sunscreen, YouTube Channels, Positive rap artists, and online organizing tools to name a few. It was a great experience for our Spigot, Inc. employees and the students, especially students with advertising campaigns. Spigot, Inc. was able to not only understand their product, but give them a few pointers on how to better run traffic for their business.

Our involvement with FGCU, specifically the Entrepreneurial college has been extremely beneficial for both our business and their students. 1/4 of Spigot, Inc. employees are FGCU Alumni and we are looking forward to judging more contests and continuing to hire students!
