Spigot, Inc. Company Culture Comes First!

At Spigot, Inc., technology stacks and skills are important, but one of the largest contributing factors to our success at Spigot, Inc. is the company culture. Employees come first, and they are given the opportunity to make business decisions, make mistakes and grow from them. Everyone is given an equal opportunity to take initiative and move up quickly. Getting the right people in the door or “on the bus” is extremely imperative – and this article on Linkedin sums it up perfectly. It states “It’s about getting the best people, retaining them, nurturing a creative environment and helping them find a way to innovate.” At Spigot, Inc. we focus on progress instead of process. Testing in production, taking risks and innovative thinking fuel our business. We focus on moving numbers up and optimize for smart, competitive individuals.

Company culture is a priority at Spigot, Inc. – we care about our employees growth AND we have a lot of fun doing it. We have a ton of perks; Team building trips, Travel, Ping-Pong, Foos ball, Mario-Kart, Super Smash Brothers, awesome benefits and free lunch! (Just to name a few). If this is something you feel like you want to be a part of Spigot, Inc. would love to speak with you! Send your resume and cover letter to careers@spigot.com for review! What’s For Lunch at Spigot, Inc.!

Spigot, Inc.’s favorite days of the week are the days where we get free food of course! Yesterday, Spigot, Inc. employees lined up in the break room to get their hands on some sirloin steaks, broccoli, quesadillas, chicken salad, delicious bread, shrimp and chicken tenders from Outback Steakhouse!  The best part of free lunch is the collaboration and the time we get to spend together just eating lunch and mingling with the different teams. Usually after lunch everyone plays one of our many games (ping pong, foosball, darts, super smash bros, FIFA or Mario Kart!). Spigot, Inc. employees get free lunch on both Monday and Wednesdays catered from all over Fort Myers (we take recommendations!).

Spigot, Inc. Visits Eightpoint and goes to Oasis Aqua Park!

Last week a few team members from our Spigot, Inc. office visited our sister company in the Cayman Islands! The team got together and left the monitors behind for an amazing, one of a kind, team fun day at Oasis Aqua Park.

Oasis Aqua Park is the latest island attraction. However, this is no regular water park. It is an inflatable obstacle course park located in Hog Sty Bay in Grand Cayman, or better known as “Waterfront”.

Of course competition in the office is huge and this time we took the competition outside with everyone running, sliding and challenging each other to see who could finish the course first without falling into the water. For many of us, it will be an unforgettable experience with our Eightpoint  and Spigot family.

Not only did Spigot and Eightpoint have a great time at the waterpark, they also had an awesome time in the office welcoming new employees and learning about different products!

Company Culture Makes Spigot, Inc. Stand Out

Company culture is extremely important to Spigot, Inc. (Of course) skills for the position are important, but we put a heavy emphasis on looking for scrappy, competitive and entrepreneurial-minded individuals to join the team. We structure our teams based on business unit with Analysts, Media Buyers and Software Engineers/Developers on every team that work collaboratively to achieve the same goal.

Not only does our company culture include heavy collaboration – it’s an extremely fun environment where we aren’t just coworkers, but also friends. We all frequently have lunches together in our huge collaboration areas, play ping-pong, foosball, darts and video games and hang out outside of work!

If you want to join a company with awesome culture, where it’s easy to make new friends and have fun – Spigot, Inc. would love to speak with you!

Dartboards!

Spigot, Inc. added yet ANOTHER addition to our office – two professional tier Winmau dartboards! Not only did we get the best boards, we also ordered special professional darts from the Darts Corner in the United Kingdom (Yes, we have to have the best of everything). Aside from Ping-Pong – it has become the most popular game in the office. At all times of the day there is a crowd of people playing and watching. Cricket, Cut-throat and Baseball have been the games of choice! Everyone’s skill levels are improving quickly – as you can see!

At Spigot, Inc. we believe that breaks are extremely necessary for production, so having competitive games in the office not only gives us a break – but a chance for everyone to have some friendly (sometimes friendly) competition too!

If you want to work for a company that promotes breaks, fun and competition – we would love to speak with you! Send your resume and cover letter to careers@spigot.com for review! Spigot, Inc. Goes Green!

Spigot, Inc. recently decided to go green and start transitioning the office into becoming more eco-friendly and efficient. Last week we replaced all of our plastic ware with Green biodegradable silverware, biodegradable plastic cups and coffee cups – and we also stocked the pantry with biodegradable paper plates; as well as glassware to minimize the amount of trash being thrown away and live plants to improve indoor air quality! We are also planning on getting biodegradable notebooks for swag! This is just the beginning of our GREEN movement, but if you want some pointers for YOUR office (or house) here are some other things you could do!

  1.  Maximize natural light
  2. Encourage green commuting (Carpooling, scooters, etc.)
  3. Go completely paperless
  4. Keep the thermostat at a higher temperature

If you want even MORE pointers, check out this website!

Team Building Paddle Boat!

Last week the operations team got to go out on a Paddle Boat Excursion with Lagerhead Cycle Boats! Our VP of Operations was in town, so it was the perfect time for our entire team to get together and do something. We left work around 4:30 and headed to Fort Myers beach to the Salty Sams Marina where we got to hop on the boat. This boat was especially great for team building because the captain would shut off the motor and we all had to work together to power it! We rode around for 2 hours and even got to stop at some of the local restaurants and bars for drinks and apps.

Afterwards the team hung out at Parrot Key for a little while, took photos and then headed over to Doc Ford’s for some dinner.

Overall it was a great night, the boat captains were awesome and it was fun hanging out with all our visitors from the other offices!

Spigot, Inc. Gets 3 Chess Tables!

There is truly something for everybody here at Spigot, Inc.! On top of adding an Xbox to our games – we have now added 3 Chess tables to the front and back of the office. Everybody here is super competitive by nature and our games are a good way to encourage friendly competition, breaks and relationships between the teams. Spigot, Inc. not only has chess and video games, but we also have competitive games of ping pong and two foosball tables. We are so competitive that we even make up games like stacking up markers and shooting them with nerf balls.

At Spigot, Inc. we believe that breaks are necessary and getting stuck on a problem hinders production. Everyday Spigot, Inc. employees take breaks from their desk by playing a number of games or just stepping out of the office to get some fresh air!

Taco Tuesday on a Wednesday!

If you follow Spigot, Inc., you have probably already noticed we like to go rogue – so today we had Taco Tuesday on a Wednesday! You also probably realized that there has been a ton of posts about food lately. That’s because we LOVE to eat and we love our FREE (that’s right, absolutely free) lunches every Monday and Wednesday even more. Not only do we get to eat delicious food, catered from local restaurants and chains in Fort Myers, we are able to socialize and eat  together as a team. Today’s Taco Wednesday was catered by Three Peppers Burrito. Three Peppers came in and set up a taco bar for the office to enjoy, and as you can see from the line (and how much fun everyone is having in the pictures) – it was a hit!

Three Peppers has a variety of delicious food to try, but today we got to create our own tacos from their catered taco bar. We had both crunchy and hard shells, home-made guac, a variety of salsas, choices of jasmine or brown rice AND a ton of toppings, just look at them all!

We love getting creative at Spigot, Inc. and this was the perfect way to blend our love for food, socializing AND creativity. If you feel like you are a creative individual and have what it takes to launch your career in dynamic and laid back culture, Spigot, Inc would like to speak with you.

Spigot, Inc. Mobile Team Goes to Cayman!

Team building is extremely important to Spigot, Inc. so we do everything we can to make sure we figure out ways to do that! This time our Mobile team went on a Cayman adventure and visited our sister company Eightpoint Technologies and got to do a ton of team building activities.

The team got the opportunity to rent jet ski’s from the Westin Grand Cayman and ride around the ocean, dive into the water and check out the coral reefs and all of the fish (they even threw chum into the water to get the fish to come to them).

The next day the team got to go to Cayman Crystal Caves and Nature Forest to see the caves (which were awesome!).

Overall the trip was great and everyone got to know each other a little bit better outside of the office!

Our parent company is based out of China and they have companies all over the globe we work side by side with – so it’s really important for us to travel and develop relationships with everyone in the other offices; as well as in our Fort Myers office.
